Head & Shoulders is probable the most popular brand when it comes to dandruff shampoos and one of the first that I have ever tried. If you have not heard of this shampoo, I am in shock because it can be found at almost any drug store, grocery store and department store on the planet. Head & shoulders makes different scents so there is something that everyone can enjoy in terms of odor preferences. These include classic, green apple, citrus breeze and ocean lift. While many claim to have great success with this shampoo, I can vouch to say that it is definitely not a good formula for everyone and I will point out the flaws and misunderstandings with it. With that being said, there is still a huge market for this shampoo and many people love it.
How To Use Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Dandruff Shampoo
Head & Shoulders shampoo is very easy to use. Just take a small quarter size amount of shampoo and massage it in throughout the hair and scalp. After washing, simply rinse out with water. Done! There are no tricks or bells and whistles to this shampoo as it is very basic and simple. Wash, rinse, repeat and go about your day!
First Impressions on Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Dandruff Shampoo
When I first started using Head & Shoulders, I did notice that flaking was reduced gradually after each treatment. The smell of the classic shampoo is clean, fresh and not overly powerful at all. After a week however, there was almost no signs of dandruff until the unthinkable happened…. After just a few weeks of using this as my daily shampoo, the formula seemed to have stopped working and I would now have to go back to the drawing board. This adjustment allowed for dandruff to come back and something else will be necessary to treat it. This may not be the case for everybody in terms of effectiveness but is definitely something that should be kept in mind when making a purchasing decision.
Main Ingredients in Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Dandruff Shampoo

Pros & Cons of Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Dandruff Shampoo
I would have to say the only real benefits with this shampoo are that it is extremely affordable and easy to find at just about any store that carries shampoo. Head and Shoulders is the most popular dandruff shampoo so there really isn’t any difficulty obtaining it. However, because the only active dandruff fighting ingredient in this shampoo is Zinc Pyrithione, I believe that there are far better solutions available on the market right now.
The problem I have experienced with Head & Shoulders shampoo is that it seams that my hair adjusts to the formula after a couple weeks of use then I have to change up my shampoo. This adjustment allows for dandruff to come back and something else will be necessary to treat it. This may not be the case for everybody in terms of effectiveness but is definitely something that should be kept in mind when making a purchasing decision.
I would only recommend this shampoo to someone that does not have sensitive skin, hair or scalp. If your hair can handle the chemicals that are present in many mainstream shampoos then this shampoo could work for you. If you have sensitive skin, or any other skin type other then “normal” I would recommend you use a product with less harsh chemicals and more natural ingredients.
Final Thoughts on Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Dandruff Shampoo
With all things considered, this shampoo is not the highest of quality, but it does’t have to be. It is mass produced, intended for price conscious consumers that make their purchasing decisions in store without doing much research on the product before buying. If you are looking for an inexpensive dandruff shampoo then try it out! However, If your budget allows I would definitely recommend to look into something that will have a much better health impact on your hair and scalp.
