After applying, it is best to leave the tea tree oil in for a few hours or even overnight and then you can wash it out with your regular shampoo. Tea tree oil has a very distinguished scent but it is pleasant and very fresh smelling. It also gives the scalp a slight tingling sensation which is very soothing.
Apple cider vinegar is a natural anti fungal agent which can be used in many home remedies including warts and dandruff. Apple cider vinegar attacks the yeast that causes dandruff on the scalp which will quickly eliminate the root of the problem. To apply the apple cider vinegar, mix equal parts apple cider vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray on the hair while rubbing into the scalp with your fingers. It is best to let the mixture soak into the hair for 30 minutes or so and then wash out. This method can be repeated a couple times a week for the best results.
Coconut oil is great for the hair not only for its anti-fungal properties but also because it is very moisturizing and has a very pleasant coconut smell. To apply coconut oil for dandruff treatment, simply rub 3-4 tablespoons into the hair and scalp and then put on a shower cap and leave in for a couple hours or overnight and then wash out. Coconut oil is one of my favorite natural remedies because after washing it out, it will leave the hair feeling very soft and healthy looking and flake free. It can also be applied in very little amounts and used as a natural leave in conditioner as well.

To apply, just take some aloe vera gel into the scalp and leave in for 30 minutes then wash out. Aloe vera is a good multi-purpose home remedy treatment that can also be used for sun burn, bites, dry skin and eczema.
Olive oil can be found in the majority of pantries as it is used very popularly in cooking. Many people may not know that olive oil is also great for use on the skin and hair because of its moisturizing properties. To apply, simply rub a couple tablespoons of oil into the scalp and leave in for 30 minutes then wash out. Olive oil will leave a very greasy feeling in the hair so it is important to wash thoroughly when you shampoo.
Lemon juice has acidity which will help balance the pH level on the scalp to remove the fungus that causes dandruff. To apply, just take 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and massage into the scalp. After 30 minutes, wash the lemon juice out. This method is very simple and many people have lemons or lemon juice in the home and can try this method out.
