Redken Dandruff Control Shampoo Review

redken dandruff control shampooRedken Dandruff Conrol Shampoo is an excellent mid range shampoo that contains pyrithione zinc to control itching and flaking of the hair and scalp. It is quickly becoming very popular and with good reason. This shampoo utilizes lavender extract to sooth the scalp and glycerin to hydrate your hair. I have to admit that I was very excited to try Redken and was definitely not disappointing with the results that this dandruff shampoo has shown. Thar does not go to say however, that this shampoo is without its flaws. No doubt there are plenty of higher quality shampoo dandruff treatments out there, but if goes without saying that this shampoo offers an incredible value and will be a great asset to any hair care regimen of an unfortunate dandruff sufferer.

How to Use Redken Dandruff Control Shampoo

This shampoo does not come with any hidden bells or whistles that will leave you with trouble. Applying the product is as simple as massaging into a wet scalp and leaving in for approximately five minutes. After this time has passed, just rinse out and finish with a conditioner of your choice for best results. Redken is definitely safe to use as a daily shampoo as it does not contain any medicated or harsh chemical ingredients or substances.

First Impressions on Redken Dandruff Control Shampoo

I can say that I was really excited to try a shampoo containing pyrithione zinc besides Head and Shoulders. I will say that I was pleased with the results and I do much prefer this shampoo to the well known Head and Shoulders. The lather is very rich and the shampoo has a mild minty scent and cooling sensation on the scalp. After washing, I did notice that my flaking had been drastically reduced to basically nothing. Unlike Head and Shoulders, this shampoo has held up quite well for the two weeks that I have been using it and my scalp has not fallen victim to a poor formula of ingredients. I believe this is due to the fact that Redken has a high standard of quality in its shampoo’s ingredients.

Main Ingredients in Redken Dandruff Control Shampoo

Pros & Cons of Redken Dandruff Control Shampoo

Pros

This shampoo is highly effective and offers a tremendous value for anyone looking for a mid range dandruff shampoo. The price is very reasonable for what you would expect to pay for a mediocre drug store brand shampoo yet the quality much surpasses it.

Cons

No shampoo goes without its flaws and this product is no exception. Redken is not a natural or organic formula and that is always a negative in my books. If you do not care about strictly natural ingredients then this issue may not be of concern to you but I do believe that natural ingredients make a world of difference when it comes to our bodies and what is being consumed by us.

Suitable For

This dandruff shampoo would most be suitable for someone that is suffering with a mild to moderate case of scalp flaking and itching. I would recommend this for anyone that has a dry scalp and needs a daily shampoo to help relieve of scalp itching, dryness, and redness as well as dandruff. If you are suffering from a severe case of dandruff I would recommend to use a medicated product in addition to a daily flaking control shampoo such as this product.

Final Thoughts on Redken Dandruff Control Shampoo

If you want to stop your dandruff for good then this shampoo is a great place to start. Many people claim that this shampoo has relieved them of flaking, itching and dryness when other drug store brands have failed. There are many reasons to love this shampoo and if you are willing to try something different for your hair then I would not hesitate to recommend it.
